     Ever since her mother died, Onyx of the SandWings has been savoring her freedom and pursuing her one life goal: becoming queen of her dragon tribe. She did not intend for her annoying ally to assign her to an undercover mission at Jade Mountain Academy, a school where young dragons from all seven tribes can learn in peace and harmony.
     Onyx is not to be easily dissuaded from her unflattering opinions of the school, or the dragons there. She cannot help but feel that she does not quite fit in, even though she is trying so much not to care. But perhaps caring is something she has always been meant to do, and can be taught to her like nothing ever has been, by the smart, beautiful, kind, and cute dragonet she shares a cave with, not that she would ever use adjectives like those to describe anyone. 
     Though, it is tough to tell if even falling in love would distract her from her plans.
